Acenda Life has expanded its offerings in the retirement market with the launch of Lifestream, a guaranteed income product designed to provide retirees with predictable, lifelong income.
This initiative addresses the challenges posed by increasing life expectancies and rising living costs, offering a solution that enhances financial confidence for Australians entering retirement.

Sean McCormack, Chief Commercial Officer at Acenda, highlighted the importance of ensuring a dignified retirement for all Australians. With longer lifespans and escalating living expenses, retirees are increasingly concerned about the adequacy of their savings. Lifestream aims to alleviate these concerns by offering a reliable income stream that retirees can depend on throughout their lives.

The introduction of Lifestream comes at a time when the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) is considering changes to the capital framework for retirement offerings, also known as annuity products. These regulatory developments are expected to benefit insurers by reducing capital requirements and allowing liabilities to be better matched to underlying assets, thereby fostering a more vibrant and diverse market for longevity products.

Acenda's move into the retirement income space reflects a broader industry trend towards developing innovative solutions that cater to the evolving needs of retirees. By providing products like Lifestream, insurers are playing a crucial role in ensuring that Australians can retire with confidence and financial security.
